Randall Makes Steady Gains
Randall Makes Gains in API!
I am very pleased and proud to announce that Randall’s API score has increased by 6 points!!! This is great growth and is a result of the dedication and hard work put in by our staff, students, and families. Way to go Superstars!
The Academic Performance Index, or API, report is a system used by the state of California for measuring academic growth of a school from year to year. Randall has achieved an API score of 730, and we are well on our way to meeting the state’s goal of 800. This is the first time in more than five years we have made two years of consecutive growth on our API!
In addition to the API, the state also looks at how a school’s significant subgroups performed on the California Standardized Test. A significant subgroup is defined as a group of students that make up a large percentage of a school’s total population. At Randall, our significant subgroups include: Filipino, Hispanic/Latino, Socioeconomically Disadvantaged, and English Language Learners. We are very proud of the accomplishments of all of our students and are looking forward to their continual growth.
Thank you for all of your effort and support in helping our Superstars “shine!” Let’s do it again in 2010!
